A Boston Church Builders Conference Recap
This past weekend, over 700 church leaders gathered in Boston for the Boston Church Builders Conference: Healthy Church Growth.
Leaders came from around the country—and around the world—with one shared purpose:
👉 To grow stronger churches and deeper faith.
And after spending the weekend together, I walked away with one overwhelming conviction:
👉 Revival is not a distant hope. It’s a present opportunity.
There Is Still Life in the Church
From the very beginning of the conference, you could feel something different.
There was energy.
There was joy.
There was faith.
People weren’t just attending sessions—they were reconnecting, encouraging one another, and building relationships.
It was a powerful reminder:
👉 God is not finished with His church.
In fact, He may just be getting started.

Why Fellowship Still Matters
Before the conference officially started, I sat down with a few leaders for a quick conversation.
What stood out to me wasn’t strategy or programming—it was what they were longing for:
- Connection
- Encouragement
- Vision
One leader shared how isolated ministry can feel in his region.
Another said he just wanted clarity on what’s next.
And one simple statement captured it all:
👉 “I just want to see God move.”
That hunger for connection and renewal is exactly why gatherings like this matter so much.
The Word of God Still Changes Lives
One thing was clear throughout the conference:
👉 The power hasn’t changed.
Every lesson was rooted in Scripture.
Every message was focused on calling people higher.
No shortcuts.
No gimmicks.
Just the Word of God doing what it has always done—transforming hearts.
A Spiritual Family Reunion
This conference felt like more than an event.
It felt like a reunion.
Leaders who have spent decades building God’s Kingdom came together again—sharing stories, laughter, and deep friendships.
It reminded me:
👉 The global church is bigger than we think—and stronger than we realize.
Revival Is a Standing Invitation
One of the most impactful messages came from Tony Fernandez, who spoke on the theme:
“Join the Revival.”
His message was simple but powerful:
👉 God is always offering revival.
The question is whether we respond.
The path is clear:
- Humility
- Repentance
- Prayer
- Fasting
When those are present, renewal follows.
Not just in churches—but in individual lives.
Growth Requires Reconciliation
Another key moment came from Kevin Miller, who shared honestly about the journey of the Boston church.
For years, growth had stalled.
But in recent years, things have changed—and the church is growing again.
The lesson?
👉 Growth doesn’t happen without healing.
Letting go of:
- Cynicism
- Fear
- Mistrust
is essential if we want to move forward together.
A Sobering Reality About Church Growth
Here’s a reality we can’t ignore:
- About 50% of churches are growing
- About 50% are not
This is both encouraging and sobering.
Because it means:
👉 The future of the church is not automatic—it’s responsive.
It depends on how we respond to God’s invitation today.
My Personal Takeaway
I didn’t leave the conference with a new strategy.
I left with something much simpler—and much deeper:
👉 Repentance
👉 Prayer
👉 Fasting
Because real revival doesn’t start in a room.
👉 It starts in a heart.
What Happens Next
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more insights and short interviews from leaders at the conference.
These conversations highlight something powerful:
👉 When you see what God is doing elsewhere, it strengthens your own faith.
A Question for You
What would revival look like in your life this week?
Not in your church.
Not in your community.
👉 In you.
Let’s Pray for Revival
Pray for:
- Personal renewal
- Spiritual humility
- Courage to change
- Revival in our churches
Because revival doesn’t begin in a crowd.
👉 It begins in a heart.
Praying for revival,
Rob
