Scripture: Hebrews 12:1
Have you ever tried driving with the emergency brake on?
The engine roars.
You press the gas.
But the car barely moves — straining, grinding, fighting itself.
Spiritually, many people live exactly like that.
We want to grow.
We want to move forward.
We want to do great things for God.
But something is holding us back.
What’s Holding You Back?
Hebrews 12:1 says:
“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
God already has a race marked out for you — but you can’t run it well if you’re dragging something behind you.
Fear.
Guilt.
Doubt.
Past mistakes.
Old wounds.
They act like spiritual emergency brakes.
And notice the scripture doesn’t say manage it or work around it.
It says throw it off.
Release the Brake
God wants you moving forward — unhindered and free.
That means:
- Letting go of the past
- Stopping the replay of old failures
- Refusing to believe you’ll always be stuck
You can’t drive forward while holding the brake.
A Simple Question
What’s your emergency brake?
Name it.
Pray about it.
Release it.
You were never designed to live stuck. God created you to move forward — free, strong, and fully alive.
The road ahead is wide open.
